IMPERMANENCE

This series of images explores the concept of impermanence, which manifests itself in the enduring transience of slow decay that unfolds over long periods of time.

Impermanence is also the highly fractured sense of time imposed by modern technologies, the absence of contemplation, and breaking of sustained rhythms and cycles that once marked our lives.

Beside human sufferance, in buddhist tradition, impermanence is also its opposite: the energetic flow

that animates the universe.

These images of objects decaying (and vibrating with energy), captured by an inherently slow antique photographic process, form part of my investigation into the contemporary experience of the passage of time.
