IMPERMANENCE

This series of images explores the concept of impermanence, which manifests itself in the enduring transience of slow decay that unfolds over long periods of time.

Impermanence is also the highly fractured sense of time imposed by modern technologies, the absence of contemplation, and breaking of sustained rhythms and cycles that once marked our lives.

These images of decaying objects, captured by an inherently slow antique photographic process, form part of my investigation into the contemporary experience of the passage of time.

"Today nothing endures. This impermanence

also affects the ego and de-stabilizes it, makes it insecure."
